Our History

Consolidated History

Construction and engineering is in our roots, as our company founder enjoyed an extensive background running concrete and related industry businesses.

Coast Realty President John Pesce’s grandfather, John, worked for Campanella and Cardi for 30 years, establishing that company’s “Ready Mix Concrete” division in 1946 before founding his own company - Consolidated Concrete Corporation - in 1957. John’s son, Bob, eventually took over the company and developed a portfolio of Class A retail projects. In the late 1970s, he was known as the “Hero of Waterman Avenue” for attracting Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric and Westinghouse to the East Providence properties he owned, bringing with them jobs and economic prosperity. He built every building on Commercial Way every and championed the establishment of this industrial road which connects Route 44 and Waterman Avenue.

Bob seized the opportunity to expand his business with the formation of Coast Realty in 1976, offering property management, retail development and other related construction services to tenants and owners alike. His son, John, took over as President in 2000. With a civil/structural engineering degree as well as solid engineering and real estate development experience at major corporations throughout the United States, he built Coast Realty into what it is today.
